Seabreeze Bakery

This senior thesis focuses on the design of Seabreeze Bakery in Kennebunk, Maine. Seabreeze is not only a bakery but also an educational space with culinary classes. The bakery's goal is to bring people together through delicious treats whether they are coming in to buy a sweet brownie or take a cake decorating class and learn a new skill.

Each material is chosen to resemble sea glass, including a custom floor transition creating a wave like path throughout the bakery that is replicated on the ceiling as a soffit. There is custom millwork on the wall behind the order counter to hold dishware and decor.

The classrooms located on the second floor hold a variety of classes including different baking ones learning how to make cookies, cakes, brownies, specialty pastries and more. There are also classes for learning cake decorating, frosting, and different decorating techniques.
