Southern Emerald NKBA Competition

This project was completed for the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) 2025–2026 Student Design Competition. The competition provided a client profile, floor plan, and a set of design guidelines that had to be followed throughout the project. The design solution was required to address the needs and preferences of the client and their family while successfully blending a maximalist aesthetic with principles of biophilic design.

Working within the given floor plan, the concept of an emerald gemstone inspired the creation of Southern Emerald. Rich emerald green tones were incorporated throughout the space, complemented by natural wood materials to establish a strong connection to nature and create a grounded, inviting atmosphere. A variety of textiles, patterns, and finishes were selected to reflect the client's personality and support the overall design vision.

In addition to the design development, technical drawings were produced, including a construction plan, an electrical plan, and detailed elevations. This project was done using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Enscape.
